The Derivatives of the Whole
It so happened during this great weekend that a friend of mine approached me with a question (or rather I should say a set of questions): What do you think about keeping idols and photos of Gods at home? What do you think the logic is, behind people saying that idols are more powerful than photos?
Fighting oneself over oneself!
Very Interesting facts!\ Christianity ….One Christ, One Bible Religion…\ But the Latin Catholic will not enter Syrian Catholic Church.\ These two will not enter Marthoma Church.\ These three will not enter Pentecost Church.\ These four will not enter Salvation Army Church.\ These five will no enter Seventh Day Adventist Church .\ These six will not enter Orthodox Church.\ These seven will not enter Jacobite church.\ Like this there are 146 castes in Kerala alone for Christianity,\ each will never share their churches for fellow Christians!\ How shameful..! One Christ, One Bible, One Jehova???\ Now Muslims..! One Allah, One Quran, One Nebi….! Great unity?\ Among Muslims, Shia and Sunni kill each other in all Muslim countries.\ The religious riot in most Muslim countries is always between these two sects.\ The Shia will not go to Sunni Mosque.\ These two will not go to Ahamadiya Mosque.\ These three will not go to Sufi Mosque.\ These four will not go to Mujahiddin mosque.\ Like this it appears there are 13 castes in Muslims.\ Killing/bombing/conquering/ massacring/… each other!\ American attack on Iraq was fully supported by all Muslim countries surrounding Iraq !\ One Allah, One Quran, One Nebi….????\ Hindus -\ They have 1,280 Religious Books, 10,000 Commentaries, more than one lakh sub-commentaries for these foundation books, innumerable presentations of one God, variety of Aacharyas, thousands of Rishies, hundreds of languages.\ Still they all go to All TEMPLES and they are peaceful and tolerant and seek unity with others by inviting them to worship with them whatever God they wish to pray for!\ Hindus never quarreled one another for the last ten thousand years in the name of religion.
Feminism or fanaticism?
Let me start with “no offence”, coz nobody likes being cornered and attacked. By putting up this title, I honestly don’t mean to offend those feminists who know the real meaning of feminism—this is targeted towards those who claim to be feminists, and think that feminism is some sort of activism that gives them some identity. I am a bit of a feminist myself—that’s come through the blood for centuries; we worship the feminine—not in the way the world knows it, or the way Leonardo Da Vinci did, and no crazy stuff (I say this, coz some of us associate the word worship with crazy things—thanks to Hollywood movies); ours is a different one. We see the nature and the Universe as the mother (for obvious reasons), and we worship Her.
The Bengaluru Perimeter Ride

There are times when you start doubting yourself when people get into your head and make you believe what they say; no matter how much you tell yourself that they speak out of ignorance.
I’m a skinny guy, by which I mean I look thin. It is very often that people look at me and be like, “Dude, you must be kidding,” whenever there is a talk of any physical activity. I generally laugh these comments off, for it doesn’t generally bother me what people think; common perception doesn’t change facts. But then there have been times when I doubted myself, and my abilities. We’re normal human beings, not saints or mind gurus to be able to block all negative thoughts that come to us from around us.
As we grow up…
I just read a status update on Facebook, ending with “Feeling Disappointed”, and was surprised how things affect people.
First of all, this is a 1100-words post. Please choose to read it when free, and if you’re reading it now, grab a beverage, and seat yourself comfortably.
Well, yeah, it was one of my close buds that had posted an update over there that compared the lives of hers and one of our mutual friends (also called some geek, for I don’t know what reason). When asked, she said she read a blog post on one of the blogs he contributes to, and started feeling bad that she was not “on par” with guys like him anymore. From what I learnt from the conversation, she was a very good student in school (probably one of those topper gals, who took everything as a competition).
Repolarising the Negative Magnet
“Ah, I’m tired of all the negatives and the argument you posted, Ram. You said a lot of things about the human psyche and the inclination towards the negative, how everyone keeps acting negative these days, and stuff like that. You said that a solution was to record the good in your life every day, or meditate. But then you also promised that you’ll share some insight as to how to make things positive. Now get started with that!”
The Negative Magnets (contd.)
Right off the bat, if you’re having a good day and aren’t so much into human psychology, please skip this post. And please know that I’m happy if you skipped it because you’re having a good day.
While sitting in front of my computer at work and checking some logs yesterday, I found a message from a close bud of mine, with feedback for my last post. It suddenly made me realise how I completely ignored that fact that I had to emphasise on the positive side of life too! (well, not coming up in this post).
The Negative Magnets
We’ve all, at some point in our life or the other, wondered why we humans always focus on the negatives of the world around us. Sometimes we even start thinking that ignorance was bliss indeed, and we shouldn’t have ended the state of ignorance! “Everywhere you turn, there’s negative. Everyone is behaving crappy of late. Everyone around us is being rude to us. Everyone around us is changing in the way we don’t want them to. Everywhere school kids are starting to try alcohol and drugs. Everywhere there’s people who are mean to us. Everyone is trying to get our money. Everyone is trying to overpower us. Everyone is being an as****e by not letting us work or sleep in peace. Everywhere there’s intrusion, robbery, rape, murder. Every politician we see is a liar and is corrupt. I’m living in a practical hell surrounded by devils everywhere! WHY, God, WHY? And why me!”
The Friendzone Issue
So I visit pages on the internet and I see this word very often. Every ‘cool’ guy out there seems to consider friendzone something like a high-ionising-radiation-prone zone and never really wants to step into it.
After a thought about it for some days, I couldn’t understand what the hype is all about - I mean why wouldn’t a guy want to be in a girl’s friendzone after all? And do they even realise how difficult it is to be in someone’s friendzone permanently - that too, a girl’s?
Impressions
They say that the first impression lasts long, and it is very difficult to change it. And I’ve always wondered, how difficult?
Well, so there’s this girl called… let’s call her Kitten, at work. We have quite a few mutual friends. I bumped into her in the cafeteria in the F3 building, and I said “hi!” to her when I was so close to her that she could probably hear me breathe. I’m known as this crazy guy here and believe me, if you come to my floor and ask for me as “the crazy guy”, anybody could point you to me. I do all crazy stuff like cracking jokes when everyone is damn serious about something, like playing badminton on the floor (yes, at work), and such things. Why, we crack so many jokes that our neighbours, (a couple of depression-maniacs—no offence) raised it to the director of Human Resources (and they almost got jacked). So something like this coming from me isn’t a big deal.
