Freedom's what we're all about...
Vasudhaiva kutumbakam isn’t a new phrase for an Indian – everyone who went to school and learnt Sanskrit as a language in their syllabus would’ve definitely heard this phrase. For those who haven’t, this means ‘The whole world is a family’ (and please don’t confuse this with Vasudeva or Vāsudeva this word can be split as Vasudha which means The Earth or The World in this context + iva which means itself + kutumbakam which means family.)
The New Reformers
Well, it feels good to be back after a while, after some more thought processes and getting to know the world better. This one again is about something that I admire a lot in the Nature – the quality to change! Like how they say, change starts from our nose – it grows every second. LOL
To love is to let go; not to possess
And when I say ‘love’ here, it is love in its true form; not what we nowadays misinterpret to be the feeling we get for someone of the opposite sex.
I’m talking about the feeling that generates positive vibrations throughout our body – the feeling that is pure and feels the best. It’s the feeling of inner peace, the calm that humans crave for all the time. This is the only feeling that humans want throughout their lives; this is the only feeling that humans would never cease to want.
The seven seconds…
A nine-year old girl in rags, untidy hair, like she’s not washed them for a couple of months now, dirty face, with all the dust and stuff from the nearby traffic signal – probably one of those totally underprivileged in our terms. She stands and stares at the chat stall near the local mall. What have you got in your mind?
The complication
Certain thoughts come to you when you expect them the least, and some do when you’re the least productive, mentally. This one came in when I was travelling in the cab – and was listening to a song.
It was Eminem’s ‘Love the way you lie’ featuring Rihanna. She was singing ‘That’s alright, because I like the way it hurts’. It’s amazing how we people have started loving the way something hurts; how we push the heart to those extremes and make it cry. Instead of avoiding hurt, we love it – hey, even getting used to it would’ve been okay, but ‘love the way it hurts’? Wow!
The greatest dilemma…
I just (26 Nov 2011, 7:49 PM) finished talking to one of my besties who just let me know of a major incident that happened in her life about two weeks ago. For those who couldn’t guess, a guy proposed to her, or rather, in actual terms, expressed the feelings he had for her, and this girl fearing what our reaction would be to it, hid it all from us. I could smell some poop somewhere but couldn’t quite tell. After all, asking her directly ‘where’s the poop, Robin?’ would make it look like I never trusted the friendship and wasn’t sure if she’d discuss everything with me; so I didn’t ask her. Today during one of those usual chat sessions, she told me about this incident that took place about a fortnight ago, which really pissed me off, for I’d never expected she’d hide such a major incident from me. You owe me one for this, bud. She’d really gotten tensed when he asked her, and had said ‘how can I say a yes or a no when I hardly know you?’ and put him off for the moment. That’s something she shouldn’t have done.
For those who have lots of theories about practicality
I really appreciate the fact that you feel ‘No matter where problems come from, let the solutions come from me…’, but there is one thing that you need to make sure – you need the ability to listen and calculate.
There are people who are eager to help, but there’s one thing about it – how much of the person’s problems do you understand? If you have just the idea about the problem, please hold yourself back and listen more. The source of the problem is larger than you think. And that is exactly the reason why the person is telling you his problems – or why do you think the person is approaching you, when he knows his problem better, and when he knows his options better? The reason is, he needs other options, that are better – not just a solution. He knows a solution himself.
Meetin’ a close friend o' yers after over a year…
Well I thought I must write this. These thoughts were the ones that came when I was running to the theatre from my best friend’s place this evening… bear with me if the thought flow is weird; can’t help it. In fact I’m writing this after I wrote what I wrote below.
My First on Blogger
Well alright… I turn the chair abruptly and hit my elbow on the armrest. A shock wave runs thru my left arm which gives me mixed emotions.
Well, that’s a very scintillating, chilling ‘vibrant’ start…lol.
Good morning, folks…this is my first on Blogger after some small ones on fb… ;)
About
Life without adventures is as meaningful as a candle without its wick. But adventures are not all about going bungee jumping or white-water rafting. They are the different out-of-normal things you do. It is about how and how much you push yourself. To me, this includes going on a 100 km bicycle ride, or doing my first YouTube video, or building an online resume from scratch.
